Eiland Modular Corner Seat
The corner unit of the Eiland modular group: a 30 inch square seat with a wrapped back cushion that turns a run of seating through ninety degrees. It is the piece that lets an Eiland sectional close around a corner instead of stopping at one.
- 30 inches square. A true square footprint, so the run coming in and the run going out meet at the same depth and the seat line stays continuous.
- A wrapped back cushion. The back cushion is 27.5 by 27.5 inches, folded around the corner rather than two separate pads butted together, so there is no gap at the turn.
- An 18 inch seat, 4.25 inches of cushion. Identical to every other Eiland deep seating piece, which is what lets corner seats, armless loveseats and arm units be mixed in one run.

The cushion itself does not change with the fabric. The foam, the cover construction and the dimensions are identical; what changes is which Sunbrella fabric book you choose from. Mainstreet Dove is stocked for Eiland. Any other Sunbrella is made to order in the fabric you pick.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Frame color. The Eiland cushioned deep seating is built in Taupe, powder coat code PC.0100M, rather than the Carbon used on the dining, cord and table pieces. Every piece in the deep seating group shares it, so club chairs, loveseats and modular units match one another.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

What do I combine it with?
The Eiland Modular Loveseat in its armless, left arm and right arm versions. A common L is a left arm loveseat, this corner seat, then a right arm loveseat, which gives you roughly 130 inches along each leg.
Why is the back cushion square?
Because it wraps the corner. At 27.5 by 27.5 inches it turns the angle in one piece, so the run has no gap or double thickness where two backs would otherwise meet.
Can I use it on its own?
You can, as a wide single seat, but it is drawn as a connector. On its own a 30 inch square seat with a wrapped back reads as an oversized chair without arms.
