Eiland Aluminum Armchair
An all aluminum dining armchair at ten pounds, with the seat and back pierced in the same metal as the frame. It is the Eiland chair for a terrace that has to be reset every evening, and the one configuration in the range with no cord and no fabric anywhere on it.
- Ten pounds. One hand moves it. That is roughly half what a teak dining armchair of the same size weighs, and it is the reason Eiland turns up in restaurant courtyards.
- A 17 inch seat under 35 inches of back. The back rises 18 inches above the seat, which is a genuine dining chair back rather than the low shoulder a stacking cafe chair gives you.
- Nothing on it but aluminum and powder coat. No cord, no sling, no cushion. There is nothing to fade, sag, stain or be carried in when the weather turns.
- Carbon powder coat. The same finish as the Eiland tables and stools, baked on rather than sprayed.

Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.

How is this different from the Eiland Armchair?
This one is all aluminum. The Eiland Armchair has a Mocha cord seat and back over the same kind of frame, sits three quarters of an inch higher at 17.75 inches and weighs two pounds less. The aluminum chair is the harder wearing of the two; the cord chair is the softer one to sit in.
Will it fit under my table?
The seat is 17 inches off the ground and the arms are 23 inches across. The Eiland dining tables stand 29.75 inches high, which leaves about 12.75 inches between seat and top, and the chair clears any table with roughly 25 inches under the apron.
Does the metal get hot?
