What is the Classic Teak 18 inch Square End Table made of?

Solid teak is the reference material for outdoor furniture. Its own oil content is what makes it stable outdoors: it resists rot and insects without treatment, and it moves very little through wet and dry cycles. Left alone it weathers from honey brown to a soft silver gray, which is a surface change rather than decay.

At 16.5 inches this sits slightly below the arm of most outdoor lounge chairs, which is the height you want for setting a drink down without reaching up. A table level with or above the arm is harder to use than it looks.

What finish does it come in?

Unfinished solid teak, which is how Oxford Garden ships it. There is no stain, paint or lacquer to chip, and no finish coat to strip back before you refinish. Left outside it silvers; sealed once a year it holds the honey tone.

How do I care for solid teak outdoors?

Left untreated, teak silvers over roughly six to twelve months outdoors. That patina is cosmetic. If you prefer the honey tone, clean it and apply a teak sealer once a year.

Wash with mild soapy water and a soft brush along the grain. Avoid pressure washers, which tear out the softer fiber between the grain lines and leave a furred surface.

Teak can stay outside year round. If you store it, keep it somewhere ventilated rather than sealed in plastic, because trapped damp is what raises mildew on the surface.

How does the Classic Teak 18 inch Square End Table ship?

In stock now and ready to ship. Oxford Garden ships Quick Ship items in one to three business days. It ships at 15 pounds, comfortably within parcel limits, so it goes by ground carrier rather than freight.

Shipping cost Free shipping on standard palletized freight to the contiguous United States, excluding HI, AK, MT, SD, ND and ID. Additional freight charges can apply to oversized pallets and to those excluded states. If any apply, we contact you with a quote before the order ships.
Carrier Smaller items ship UPS or FedEx Ground. Anything past parcel size moves by freight carrier.
How it arrives Freight shipments arrive with lift gate service and are delivered curbside. The driver is not responsible for moving items into your backyard, patio or installation location.
Inspect before you sign Inspect the shipment thoroughly before signing the delivery receipt. Signing without noting visible damage counts as accepting the shipment in good condition. Report concealed damage within 48 hours of receipt and keep all packaging.
Returns Return requests must be submitted within 21 calendar days from the date of delivery, and every return needs prior written authorization from Aqua Terra Backyard. Original outbound shipping is not refundable and return shipping is arranged at the customer's expense.

What else do buyers ask about this piece?

What height should an end table be next to a chair?

Roughly level with the arm of the chair beside it, or a little below. At 16.5 inches this suits lounge chairs whose arms sit between 16 and 20 inches, which covers most outdoor seating.

Is it heavy enough to stay put?

At 16.5 pounds it will not blow over in ordinary weather, but it is light enough to move with one hand. On an exposed rooftop or beachfront terrace, plan on bringing light furniture in when the space is closed.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes. Unfinished teak works indoors as readily as out, though it will keep its honey tone indoors rather than silvering. Many buyers use these in a conservatory or sun room where an indoor table would not last.

How quickly does this ship?

It is a Quick Ship item, which means Oxford Garden ships it in one to three business days from Simpsonville, Kentucky. Transit time on top of that depends on your distance from Kentucky and whether the order moves by parcel or freight.

Will the teak go gray, and can I stop it?

It will silver over roughly six to twelve months outdoors, and that is a surface change rather than any loss of strength. If you want the honey tone kept, clean the piece and apply a teak sealer once a year. Most buyers let it weather.

Can this go in a restaurant or hotel?

Yes. Oxford Garden builds to commercial grade and its furniture is specified regularly for hospitality. The materials are chosen to survive repeated cleaning and constant outdoor exposure rather than occasional residential use.

What else goes with this piece?

These are the Oxford Garden pieces most often bought alongside it, from the Classic range and its neighbors.
