Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.

The blank after S. is the sling fabric, and Oxford Garden's own photography of the Azal chair shows it in a wide range of sling colors over several frame powder coats. Page 8 of the 2026 price list carries one price for the chair and it does not move with the fabric you choose.

Care and Maintenance
Sling. Hose it down and let it dry. Sling fabric drains and dries on its own and does not need to be brought inside. For stubborn marks, mild soap and a soft brush.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Is 7.5 pounds too light for an outdoor chair?
For sitting, no. The sling takes your weight across the frame rather than at four points, which is why a light frame works. On an exposed roof or waterfront, stack or tie the chairs when they are empty.
What does the sling feel like compared with a cushion?
It gives under you like a tensioned hammock rather than compressing like foam. It also stays cooler in direct sun than a foam cushion, and it never holds water.
Will it tuck under a dining table?
The chair is 23 inches deep with a 17.5 inch seat and arms at a low profile. Under a 29 inch table with no deep apron it tucks fully. It is a good chair for a table that has to be cleared against a wall.
Do I choose the sling fabric?
Yes. The item code AZCH-S.___ leaves the sling fabric open, and Oxford Garden photographs Azal across a wide range of sling colors and frame finishes. The price on page 8 is the same whichever you choose.
Can the sling be replaced later?
Sling is a serviceable part on frames built this way, and Oxford Garden supports its products through its own service channel. We would refer a re-sling request to them rather than quote it from the price list.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. Neither the aluminum frame nor the sling rots. Where winters are long and wet, storing them under cover keeps the fabric looking new for longer.
How is it cleaned?
