Ario Armchair in Teak and Powder Coated Aluminum
A dining armchair with a teak seat on a slim powder coated aluminum frame, built around a continuous curved back and arm. At 23 inches wide and 29 inches tall it is a low backed chair, made to sit close to a table rather than to dominate it.
- A continuous arm and back. The arm sweeps around into the back in one curve instead of meeting it at a corner. That is the line the chair is designed around and the reason it reads as furniture rather than as patio equipment.
- Teak where you sit, aluminum where it counts. Solid wood under you and a metal frame carrying the load, which is how the chair holds a real seat at 17.25 pounds.
- A 29 inch overall height. Low backed by design. Pushed in, the chair sits at about the height of a standard dining table top, so a set of them does not wall off a terrace.
- A 17.25 inch seat. Standard dining height, which puts it at the same level as Oxford Garden's Classic teak chairs if you are mixing collections around one table.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Powder coated aluminum. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on the coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it holds at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Seat. Teak. Oxford Garden's item code for this chair, ARCH-SB.K-PC_, carries the K that marks teak through the rest of the range, and Oxford Garden describes the Ario armchair as a teak seat on a powder coated aluminum frame with stainless steel hardware.
Why two materials. The metal does the structure and the wood does the surface you touch. That is what keeps the chair at 17.25 pounds while the part under you is still solid wood.

Care and Maintenance
Teak seat. No treatment is required. Left alone the wood silvers over roughly a season. To hold the honey tone, apply a teak sealer once a season to a dry seat. Do not use a pressure washer, which tears the soft grain out from between the harder rings.
Powder coated frame. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up a deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The chair can stay outside all year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the back so low?
It is a design decision, not a saving. At 29 inches the back finishes just above the table top, so a set of eight chairs does not block the view across a terrace. It supports your lower back rather than your shoulders.
Will it tuck under my table?
Almost certainly. The chair is 20.5 inches deep and 29 inches tall overall, so it disappears under any dining table with a 29 inch top, arms and all.
Does the teak seat need to be sealed?
No. Sealing only controls color. Left alone the seat silvers to gray over a season while the frame keeps its powder coat color, which is a look some people want and some do not. A sealer once a season holds the honey tone.
Do the two materials weather at the same rate?
No, and that is worth knowing before you buy. The powder coated frame holds its color for years while the teak seat silvers in the first season unless you seal it.
What frame colors are available?
The item code ends in PC, the powder coat, and Oxford Garden photographs the Ario armchair in several finishes including Chalk and Carbon. We confirm the exact finish with Oxford Garden before the order goes in.
Can it stay outside all year?
Yes. Teak carries its own oil and aluminum does not rust, so neither half of the chair needs to come in. The stainless hardware is chosen for the same reason.
Why does the price list show two prices for this chair?
Page 7 of the 2026 price list prints two figures, 830 and 930 dollars, against a single item code and a single description line. We list only the 830 line, which is the one with a code against it, and we have asked Oxford Garden what the second figure covers.
