Argento Side Chair
The armless version of the Argento dining chair, 21 inches wide and 13 lb. It takes up five inches less table edge than the armchair while keeping the same 18 inch seat height and the same Argento weave, which is what lets you run both around one table.
- 21 inches of table edge. Narrow enough to get six down a table where armchairs would only give you four, and with no arms to catch on the apron.
- Same seat height as the armchair. 18 inches, so a mixed set of armchairs and side chairs sits level around the same table.
- Argento weave over aluminum. Argento resin wicker on a powder coated aluminum frame. The weave color is in the strand, so scuffs do not show a pale core.
- Three cushion fabrics. Bliss Linen, solution dyed polyester, or any other Sunbrella fabric made to order. Same cushion, different cloth.

Cushion and Fabric Options
The cushion is the same cushion whichever fabric you choose: same foam, same cover construction, same dimensions. Only the fabric changes.

Materials and Construction
Frame. Marine grade aluminum, powder coated. Aluminum does not rust, so the frame does not depend on a coating staying perfect to survive. The powder coat is baked on rather than sprayed, which is why it resists chipping at the joints where outdoor furniture usually fails first.
Weave. Argento resin wicker, woven over the aluminum frame. The color runs through the strand rather than sitting on the surface, so a scuff does not expose a pale core. Argento is the only Oxford Garden collection that takes this weave.
Cushions. Solution dyed acrylic. The color goes into the fiber before it is spun rather than being printed onto finished cloth, which is why these fabrics hold color in direct sun far longer than a conventional outdoor print.

Care and Maintenance
Cushions. Brush off loose dirt, sponge with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly and air dry. Do not machine dry. Bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not in use for long stretches.
Resin wicker. Rinse with a hose and wipe the weave down with mild soap and water. A soft brush gets grit out of the crossings. Skip solvents and abrasive pads, and do not pressure wash the weave.
Powder coated aluminum. Wash with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which dull the finish. Touch up any deep scratch promptly so salt and grit have nothing to work at.
Off season. The frame can stay outside all year.

Is the cushion included?
Yes. The chair ships with its seat cushion, in the fabric you select.
What is the difference between the cushion fabrics?
Only the cloth. Construction and dimensions are identical. Bliss Linen is the Sunbrella acrylic Oxford Garden stocks for Argento. The solution dyed polyester comes in five colors. Any other Sunbrella fabric is made to order.
Can I choose any Sunbrella fabric?
Yes. Tell us the Sunbrella fabric you want and we will confirm it with Oxford Garden before the order goes in.
How many will fit around my table?
Allow 21 to 24 inches of table edge per side chair. A 72 inch rectangular table takes three down each long side comfortably, or two a side plus one at each end. The chair is 23 inches deep, so leave about 30 inches behind it to push back.
Why does the carton hold two chairs?
Oxford Garden cartons the side chair two to a box. Six chairs means three cartons.
What is Argento wicker?
It is Oxford Garden's silvered gray resin wicker, woven over a powder coated aluminum frame. Oxford Garden restricts this weave to the Argento collection, so nothing else in the catalog comes in it. The color is in the strand, not painted on.
Can it stay outside through the season?
Yes. The frame is powder coated aluminum, which does not rust, and the weave is resin rather than natural cane, so damp does not rot it. Fabric lasts longer if you bring cushions in or cover them when the piece is not being used for a stretch.
Is it stackable?
Oxford Garden does not state a stacking figure for this chair, so we do not claim one. Plan on storing it as a single chair rather than in a stack.
How does it ship?
By parcel carrier. The two chair carton is 29 by 25 by 24 inches at 38 lb, inside what UPS and FedEx accept, so it arrives at the door rather than on a pallet.
