The Osburn AC01317 is a 7 3/16" x 26" heat shield that mounts on the faceplate of the 2000-I wood insert and reduces the clearance needed to a mantel shelf and top surround. With it, the 2000-I manual allows a mantel shelf at 21" minimum instead of 27". It helps when your mantel sits lower than the standard clearance allows.

What does it change?
Per the 2000-I manual, the minimum clearance to a mantel shelf drops from 27" to 21", and the top surround clearance is 21" minimum. The maximum shelf depth stays 12".
How is it installed?
Fasten it to the faceplate assembly (with the faceplate extension) using the three self-drilling screws in the kit, pointing upward, then mount the faceplate on the insert.
Does it fit other inserts?
Osburn lists the AC01317 for the 2000-I. Other models have their own heat shields, so send us yours.
