The Osburn AC01277 is a 34" x 50" cuttable faceplate, 18 gauge, for the Matrix 2700 wood insert. It is used when the fireplace opening is larger than the insert's cast iron faceplate. You cut it to size, screw it to the insert faceplate and seal the back edge with the included gasket.

How does it install?
Cut the faceplate to size and fasten it to the insert faceplate with the supplied screws. Cut the gasket into three pieces and apply it around the back edge of the cast iron faceplate. Then line up the hooks with the insert and slide the faceplate down to engage them.
When do I need it?
When your fireplace opening is larger than the Matrix 2700's cast iron faceplate can cover.
Does it fit other Matrix inserts?
Osburn lists the AC01277 for the Matrix 2700. The Matrix 1900 uses the AC02082 32" x 44" cuttable faceplate.
