Questions people ask us
What do one, two and three-sided viewing mean?
It ships with end panels and side trims. Leave them on to see the fire from the front only, or remove them on one end or both to see it from the front and one side or the front and both sides. The framing opening does not change.
What power does it need?
A dedicated 15 amp grounded circuit at 120 V or 240 V. Napoleon's manual says it is necessary to hardwire this appliance, with a qualified electrician connecting it directly to the household wiring. For 240 V, jumper wires are relocated as the manual shows.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Napoleon's manual warns that elevated temperatures on the wall or in the air above the appliance can damage a TV or other electronic components. Napoleon's manual gives 0″ from the top of the appliance to a mantel, or 2½″ above the finishing trim. Check your TV maker's guidance as well as the clearance chart in Napoleon's manual. If you want a second opinion on your wall, send us the dimensions.
How much heat does it put out?
The heater runs up to 1,500 W at 120 V or 3,000 W at 240 V, with low and high settings, a blower-only setting and a thermostat from 64 to 82°F. The flame can run with the heat off.
How do I control it?
Use the remote, which takes a button battery, or the touch panel. The panel wakes up when it detects motion within about 8″ below it.
What is in the flame bed?
A log set and crystal media come with it, plus a media tray. The ember bed and top lights offer a choice of colors with a cycle mode.
Where can I install it?
Indoors only. Napoleon's manual says not to use it outdoors and to choose a location that is not prone to moisture. Its rating plate lists it as suitable for bedroom and bed-sitting room installation. Please check with us before planning a bathroom install.
