Napoleon Purview Wall Mount Electric Fireplace
A 42 inch wall-hung flame that is only 5½ inches deep. The Purview 42 hangs on the wall or recesses into it, with a black frame and a flat glass front. It has low and high heat, orange and white LED flames over a crystal ember bed, and a remote. It plugs into a 120 V outlet.

Questions people ask us
Can I hang it on the wall, or recess it?
Either. Napoleon's manual covers a wall mounted install, a full recess into the wall and a recess into a mantel. The bracket hooks must face up and the bracket must be level, and Napoleon recommends screwing it into the studs.
What power does it need?
A dedicated 15 amp grounded 120 V circuit. It ships with a power cord. If an electrician hardwires it, the cord is removed and the unit is wired directly through a junction box. Napoleon does not permit extension cords.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Napoleon's manual warns that elevated temperatures on the wall or in the air above the appliance can damage a TV or other electronic components. Napoleon's manual gives 8″ from the top of the appliance to a ceiling or mantel. Check your TV maker's guidance as well as the clearance chart in Napoleon's manual. If you want a second opinion on your wall, send us the dimensions.
How much heat does it put out?
Low heat is 750 W and high heat is 1,500 W, with a thermostat from 64 to 82°F and a blower-only setting. Think of it as supplemental heat for the room. The flame can run with the heat off.
How do I control it?
Use the remote, which takes a button battery and works within about 17 feet, or the touch panel on the unit. There are separate controls for the orange flame and the white flame, and a timer from 30 minutes to 8 hours.
What is in the flame bed?
Crystal media makes up the ember bed. The flames come in orange and white, each with its own brightness control.
Where can I install it?
Indoors only. Napoleon's manual says not to use it outdoors and to choose a location that is not prone to moisture. Its rating plate lists it as suitable for bedroom and bed-sitting room installation. Please check with us before planning a bathroom install.
