The Napoleon DHMAXF is the front discharge manifold kit for Ducted Heat Management (DHM) on the Altitude X (AX36/42-2) gas fireplaces. DHM carries heat from the fireplace through the front of the wall above the fireplace, so it circulates into the room and less heat collects above the opening. It needs no added fans and works with the other DHM kits in the manual, such as the ducted vent kit (DVK/DVKB).

Plan it at framing.Napoleon says DHM must be installed during framing, before the gas is installed, by a qualified installer. Wiring for the high limit switch is done by a qualified electrician to local codes, and the discharge opening must stay unblocked and out of reach.

Questions people ask us

What is Ducted Heat Management?

DHM ducts heat away from the fireplace and releases it through the front of the wall above the fireplace. Napoleon says it lets framing and finishes come up to the opening and reduces heat above it, with no added fans.

Is this the whole system?

No. This is the front manifold kit. The manual lists the other kits a DHM install uses, including the ducted vent kit (DVK/DVKB) and the grill kit. Ask us and we will list the full set for your wall.

Can I put a TV above the fireplace?

The manual allows electronics and wall-mounted items 6" below the air outlet and 6" above the finishing flange. Check the TV maker's heat limits too.
