The Napoleon BK3B3RD is a black 3-sided backerplate for the Rosedale 3 (RD3) gas insert. It finishes the face around the insert where it meets the fireplace opening. Napoleon calls for the 3-sided backerplate whenever the RD3 is installed with the RD3RISE 3 inch riser box.

3-sided or 4-sided?
Both fit the RD3. If the insert sits on the RD3RISE 3 inch riser box, Napoleon requires the 3-sided backerplate. Otherwise the choice depends on the look of your hearth and opening.
Does it fit the Rosedale 2?
No. BK3B3RD is the RD3 part. Napoleon makes separate backerplates for the Rosedale 2.
What else does the RD3 need?
Napoleon offers birch or oak log kits, such as the BLKRD3 birch logs, and decorative panels such as Newport Standard brick.
