The Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline is a linear electric fireplace that hangs on the wall or recesses flush into a 4 inch deep opening, made in 50, 60, 74 and 100 inch widths. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet and has a 5,000 BTU heater with a thermostat. A driftwood log set and glacier crystals come with it, and the flames and ember bed each have 10 colors. Models SPS-50B, SPS-60B, SPS-74B and SPS-100B.

Use a dedicated outlet, never an extension cord.The manual calls for a dedicated 15 amp grounded outlet and no extension cords or power strips. If you hardwire it instead, have a licensed electrician make the connection to the manual and local codes.

Questions people ask us

Can I plug it in?

Yes. It comes with a 120V cord and plug. Modern Flames calls for a dedicated 15 amp outlet. Hardwiring is optional and should be done by a licensed electrician.

How deep is the recess?

A flush recessed install needs a 4" minimum depth. The finished opening is 16 1/4" high, and the width runs from 48 7/8" for the 50 inch to 98 7/8" for the 100 inch.

What comes in the box?

A driftwood log set and glacier crystals for the ember bed, the wall bracket, brackets for a recessed install, the hardware and a remote.

Can it go outside or in a bathroom?

No. The Spectrum Slimline is for indoor use only, and the manual says to keep it out of damp areas such as bathrooms and laundry rooms.
