Questions people ask us
How do I confirm it is the right part?
Find the model and serial number on the rating plate of your fireplace, then check the part number on the service parts list for that model. Hearth & Home Technologies lists this part for the Meridian 36 (MERID36IN, MERID36IL) and Quartz 42 (QUARTZ42IN, QUARTZ42IL). Send us the model and serial and we will check it for you.
Is this the gas valve?
No. This is the bulkhead with flex tube only. The valve, pilot assembly and control module are separate parts on the same service parts list.
Does it matter if my fireplace runs on propane?
The Meridian 36 and Quartz 42 service parts lists show one part number, SRV7000-156, for this item with no separate propane version.
Who should replace it?
Turn off the gas and the power and let the fireplace cool before any work. A qualified service technician should replace gas and electrical parts to the installation manual, and a licensed gas professional should make any gas connection to local codes and check it for leaks.
