The Majestic Courtyard is an outdoor traditional gas fireplace in 36 and 42 inch sizes, rated 55,000 BTU/h on natural gas. It needs no vent pipe, exhausting out the front, and lights with IntelliFire pilot ignition from a wall switch. NR models ship without refractory for your choice of panels; TS models are the traditional stacked refractory version.

Outdoor use only, no glass doors.Majestic says not to install glass doors on the Courtyard. Majestic defines an outdoor space as walls on all sides with no overhead cover, a covered area with no more than two side walls, or a covered area with three side walls when at least 30% of the perimeter is permanently open. Majestic fireplaces should be installed by a qualified, certified installer. A licensed gas professional should make the gas connection to the instructions and local codes.

Questions people ask us

What is the difference between NR and TS?

NR units have no refractory and must be finished with a refractory kit, so you choose traditional or herringbone in gray, brown or black. TS units are the traditional stacked refractory version and weigh more (170 lb and 190 lb against 90 lb and 95 lb). See refractory panels.

Does it need a chimney?

No. The manual says the Courtyard does not require a vent pipe; it exhausts out the front. It must be in an outdoor space as Majestic defines it.

What else do I need?

A log set (standard or high definition) and the grate, plus a refractory kit on NR units. A screen, stainless liner and drain pan are options. See gas log sets.

Can it run on propane?

Yes. It ships for natural gas, and a qualified technician installs kit ODCOUG-LPK for propane (53,000 BTU/h).
