The Heat & Glo SRV2440-716 is the top refractory panel, herringbone style, for the TRUE 50 inch direct vent gas fireplace, model TRUE-50TG-IFT. It replaces one cracked or damaged panel of the firebox liner. The Stratford TRUE-50S-IFT uses a different set of panels, so check your model first. Part number SRV2440-716.

How do I confirm it is the right part?

Find the model and serial number on the rating plate of your fireplace, then check the part number on the service parts list for that model. Hearth & Home Technologies lists this part for the TRUE 50 TRUE-50TG-IFT. Send us the model and serial and we will check it for you.

Is this the whole refractory set?

No. It is the top panel only. The other herringbone panels are SRV2440-711, SRV2440-712, SRV2440-713, SRV2440-714, SRV2440-717.

Will it fit the TRUE 36 or 42?

No. The TRUE 36 and TRUE 42 have their own refractory part numbers on the same service parts pages.

Can I replace it myself?

Turn off the gas at the appliance valve and the power, and let the fireplace cool fully first. Firebox parts should be fitted as the owner's and installation manuals show, and a qualified service technician should do the work if it means moving logs, media or the burner.
