Grand Canyon Indoor Electronic Ignition System

The Grand Canyon Indoor Electronic Ignition System (EIS) is a 24V pilot on demand ignition box with the gas valve built in, for vented gas log burners. The valve, control module and transformer sit in a metal box mounted in the wall near the fireplace, and a spark lights the pilot only when the fire is called for. Choose the EIS for natural gas up to 200,000 BTU, the EIS-INDOOR-350 for natural gas up to 350,000 BTU, or the EIS-LP-10 for propane, rated at 320,000 BTU with a 10 ft pilot lead. Grand Canyon lists it for indoor use.

Questions people ask us
Which one do I need?
Choose by fuel and burner size. The EIS is the natural gas system rated at 200,000 BTU. The EIS-INDOOR-350 is the natural gas system rated at 350,000 BTU for large burners such as the Jumbo up to 120". The EIS-LP-10 is the propane system, rated at 320,000 BTU with a 10 ft pilot lead.
How does it light the fire?
When you call for heat, the module sparks and lights a pilot on demand, proves the flame, then opens the main valve. There is no standing pilot burning between uses.
Where does the box go?
In the wall near the fireplace, fastened to the studs where it can be reached for service. It must sit within 5 or 9 feet of the fireplace, depending on whether it has the 72 or 120 inch pilot lead. With the 10 ft lead of the EIS-LP-10, that is within 9 feet.
What turns it on and off?
It is an on/off system. The installer connects a wall switch, a remote, a home automation controller or a fan damper system. Grand Canyon lists the GCRK remote and the WBPB-12/24 controller for its EIS systems.
Is there an outdoor version?
Yes, see the outdoor electronic ignition system.
Will it fit my fireplace?
Send us the burner style, size, gas type and where the box will go and we will check it with you.
