View full details

The FireGarden Tempest Torch is a 20,000 BTU outdoor gas torch with a stainless steel body and a four-sided tempered glass housing. The open-air housing is designed to help the flame stay lit in wind and rain, and the gas shuts off automatically if the flame goes out. Choose the manual piezo natural gas torch, part 94900743, or the 24V electronic ignition torch, part 94900782, which FireGarden lists as a convertible model. Every torch needs a wall mount, post or pillar mount, sold separately.

Questions people ask us

Which mount do I need?

Every Tempest Torch sits on one base assembly: a wall mount, a post or a pillar mount. For a wall, use the Tempest Torch Wall Mount, 94800825. For a deck, the Tempest Deck Post, 94800812 stands 69 inches tall and installs on the Tempest Deck Mount, 94800821. Ask us about the ground post and pillar mount.

What else does the 24V torch need?

A 24V AC transformer, sold separately, on a switched circuit. Use the Single Ignition Transformer, 94800833 for one torch or the Multiple Ignition Transformer, 94800830 for up to six.

Can it run on propane?

The manual piezo torch, 94900743, is built for natural gas only and cannot be converted. FireGarden lists the 24V torch, 94900782, as a convertible model. Tell us which fuel you have when you order and we will confirm the setup with you.

Does it stay lit in wind and rain?

The four-sided, open-air glass housing is designed to keep the flame going in wind and rain, and an automatic shutoff closes the gas if the flame goes out. A rain cap comes with the torch. FireGarden's manual says not to run the torch in high winds or during a lightning storm.
