The Duravent DuraBlack stovetop adapter connects DuraBlack single-wall black stovepipe to the appliance flue outlet, in 6 or 8 inch. It is the first piece at the stove collar, so the pipe above it seats cleanly. Duravent part numbers 6DBK-AD and 8DBK-AD.

Which size do I need?

Match the appliance flue outlet. Duravent advises never reducing the outlet size unless the appliance instructions allow it. If the outlet is smaller than the chimney, use an increaser instead.

Is DuraBlack a chimney?

No. DuraBlack is single-wall connector pipe. It runs from the appliance flue outlet to a manufactured chimney, such as Duravent DuraPlus or DuraTech, at the ceiling support box or finishing collar. Duravent says connector pipe cannot be enclosed, cannot pass through combustible material and must not leave the room the appliance is in.

How do the sections go together?

The bottom of the first section goes inside the stove collar or appliance adapter, and Duravent calls for 3 sheet metal screws equally spaced around each joint. Each joint uses about 1 1/4 inches of length, so subtract that from each pipe length to get the installed length.

Which appliances can it connect?

Duravent describes DuraBlack as interior stovepipe for connecting wood stoves to a manufactured chimney, and its FAQ rates it for wood, oil, coal or gas appliances. The appliance manufacturer's manual decides which connector and chimney are approved, so check it first or send us the appliance model.
