The Duravent 8BVC is an 8" Model BV draft hood connector, 8" long. It connects round Type B gas vent to the draft hood of the appliance, or joins single-wall vent connector to the Type B vent. For listed Category I gas appliances with draft hoods.

Can I use this on a wood stove, pellet stove or oil furnace?

No. Duravent lists Model BV Type B gas vent for listed natural gas or LP Category I gas appliances with draft hoods and appliances listed for Type B vent, with flue gases up to 470°F. Its catalog warns that oil or wood burning appliances can damage the vent, and it is not for Category II, III or IV gas appliances. Wood and pellet appliances need a chimney or vent system listed for them.

Who should install it?

Duravent warrants the vent fully only when a professional installer puts it in. A licensed gas professional should install the system to Duravent's instructions, NFPA 54 (the National Fuel Gas Code) and local codes. The appliance manufacturer's manual decides which venting is approved and the vent size and layout, so send us the appliance model and we will check.
