The Duravent DuraPlus 6DP-E30K is a 6 inch 30 degree elbow kit with two elbows and one elbow strap. A pair of elbows makes one offset in a DuraPlus triple-wall chimney, to clear a joist, rafter or ridge. The strap carries the chimney weight off the elbows.

Every offset needs an elbow strap.Duravent requires at least one elbow strap for each offset, and a second strap when the chimney between the two elbows is longer than 3 feet. Keep 2 inches to combustibles.

Questions people ask us

How many offsets can I use?

Duravent allows up to two 30 degree offsets, no more than 2 pairs of elbows (4 elbows) in one chimney. Duravent notes 45 degree DuraPlus chimney elbows are not allowed in the United States.

Is a strap included?

Yes, one elbow strap is in the kit. Add a second strap if the chimney between the elbows runs more than 3 feet.

What is DuraPlus listed for?

DuraPlus is a triple-wall, all-fuel chimney listed to UL 103HT (MH7399). Duravent rates it for residential appliances fueled by wood, oil, coal or gas, for continuous operation at 1000 F flue gas temperature. The appliance manual decides which chimney is approved, so check it or send us the model.

How high does the chimney need to go?

Duravent's instructions quote NFPA 211: at least 3 feet above the point where it passes through the roof and 2 feet higher than any part of the building within 10 feet. DuraPlus may be installed up to 35 feet high, and an Extended Roof Bracket is required if it runs more than 4 feet above the roof.
