The Dimplex Ignite Bold (IgniteXL Bold) is a deep built-in linear electric fireplace in 50, 60, 74, 88 and 100 inch widths, models XLF5017-XD to XLF10017-XD. One box installs as front-facing, left or right corner, or a three-sided bay, with a 16 inch tall viewing area. It ships with acrylic crystals and driftwood, connects to the Flame Connect app, and heats with up to 2,500 watts on 240 V.

Plan the wiring before framing.The Ignite Bold hardwires at 120 V or 240 V, or plugs in on 120 V with the XLFXDPLUG kit, sold separately. A licensed electrician should make hardwired connections. Dimplex calls for two people to install it, and the firebox is not load-bearing.

Questions people ask us

Does it come with a plug?

No. It is built to hardwire at 120 V or 240 V. For a 120 V plug-in install, add the XLFXDPLUG plug kit. See Dimplex fireplace accessories.

Hardwired installs, and any 240 V or 208 V connection, should be done by a licensed electrician to the instructions and local codes.

Can I use it as a corner or bay fireplace?

Yes. The same unit sets up as front, left corner, right corner or three-sided bay, using the closed and open side trims in the box. The framing size is the same for all of them.

Can two units run side by side?

Yes, with the XLFXDLINK linking kit, sold separately. The framing width is the sum of the units you join.

What is in the box?

The firebox, front, side and mirrored glass, closed and open side trims, acrylic crystals in three sizes, driftwood, the remote and mounting hardware.

Can it go outdoors?

Dimplex certifies it for covered outdoor spaces. It must sit under an overhang no taller than 3 times its projection, and a ground-fault protected circuit is recommended.
