Questions people ask us

What chimney does the Blackstone 42 use?

The IHP 8DM chimney system, with an 8 inch inner pipe. Canadian installations must use 8HT.

Can I put gas logs in it?

Yes. Astria allows gas logs approved to ANSI Z21.60, Z21.84 or Z21.11.2, and offers sets such as Western Timber and Rich Oak.

Does it come with doors?

Mesh fire screens come with it. Bi-fold glass doors with black trim are an option.

What is the difference between radiant and louvered?

This is the radiant, smooth-faced model. Astria also makes a circulating louvered version, and the optional fan kit fits only the circulating model.
