The American Fyre Design Bordeaux is a 50 by 30 inch rectangle fire bowl, handcrafted from glass fiber reinforced concrete and refractory cement. A 24 inch stainless steel linear burner runs down its center. This version burns natural gas with manual flame sensing control and is rated at 60,000 BTU.

Outdoor use only, installed by a qualified professional.The instructions call for 3 feet of clearance from the sides to any construction, 6 feet overhead, a hard and level surface, and a gas shut-off within 6 feet of the bowl. A licensed gas professional should make the gas connection to the instructions and local codes.

Does the Bordeaux come in propane?

This listing is the natural gas version. American Fyre Design also builds the Bordeaux Rectangle for propane, so ask us if you need LP.

What media goes in the bowl?

It is designed for lava rock or fyre glass. The instructions call for about 30 lbs of lava or 50 lbs of glass, filled 1 to 2 inches above the burner and no higher. Accent stones such as Creekstones sit on top of that layer.

How much clearance does it need?

Keep 3 feet between the sides of the bowl and any construction, and 6 feet of open space above it. Set it on a hard, level surface, outdoors only.

Which finishes can I order?

We list Black Lava and Smoke. American Fyre Design offers the Bordeaux in its other heavy texture finishes as well, such as White Aspen and Cafe Blanco. Ask us about those and the lead time.
