George Risk pool door and gate alarms for backyard pools
A door or window onto the pool deck is the gap in most backyard safety setups. The DPARM watches that opening on a closed loop circuit and sounds the moment it opens, unless an adult pressed the pass through first.

George Risk pool door and window alarms for backyard pools
Closed loop alarms that watch the opening onto the deck and sound the moment it opens.
An adult goes through, a child sets it off
An adult presses the shunt button, gets a 15 second window to go through, and the alarm arms itself again automatically with nothing to remember. A child who cannot reach the button or work it out sets the sounder off instead. That one behavior is the difference between an alarm that stays armed all summer and one that gets switched off in week two because it keeps going off.
An alarm is a layer, never a substitute for watching
George Risk states it plainly and so do we: this is not a life saving device. It tells you a door opened. It does not supervise a child, and it does not replace a fence, a self closing gate or an adult paying attention. If you are buying to satisfy an inspection, read the first guide card below before you order.

Before you order a door alarm
Will it satisfy an inspection?
We cannot say that it will. George Risk publishes no UL 2017 listing, no ETL number and no code compliance claim for the DPARM, and model pool barrier codes call for a door alarm listed to that standard. If an inspector is involved, call 631-678-6506 and we will point you at a listed part instead of selling you this one.
Battery, hardwired, or both
It runs on a 9V battery, on 12VDC, or on both with the battery as backup. It warns you when the battery is low rather than quietly going dead, which is the failure mode that makes people distrust door alarms in the first place.
One alarm watches one opening
A house with a slider, a back door and a basement door onto the deck needs one on each. Count the openings a child could actually reach before you order, and send us a photo of the frames if you are not sure a surface mount unit will fit.
Talk to someone who has installed one
Outdoor audio is a layout problem before it is a product problem. Call 631-678-6506 and we will work out how many speakers your yard actually needs before you buy any.
Every manual and spec sheet in one place
The installation sheet, the wiring detail for 12VDC and the volume jumper settings are all on our George Risk documents page, so the install can be worked out before the alarm arrives.
Send us your plan
Email a photo or a sketch of the space to eric@aquaterrabackyard.com and we will come back with a speaker count, a subwoofer call and the cable gauge for your runs.
