Pool Fittings

The Small Parts That Hold The Plumbing Together

Fittings are what turn lengths of PVC into a working circulation system. Elbows and couplings route the run, unions let you break the line at the pump and heater without cutting, bulkhead fittings pass through a tank wall, and eyeball and return fittings aim the water once it gets back to the pool.

Getting the Size and Connection Right

Pool plumbing is almost always one and a half inch or two inch schedule 40 PVC, and the connection matters as much as the size. Slip takes solvent weld, spigot drops into the next size up, threaded needs tape or sealant rated for pool chemicals, and barb is for flexible hose. Union fittings are worth the extra cost anywhere you expect to service equipment later.
